Side channel pumps for demanding industrial applications

The horizontal, self-priming, gas-carrying side channel pumps from Apollo Gößnitz feature a sectional casing design and impress with their compact construction, high-pressure performance and wide range of applications. They are particularly well-suited to small delivery rates with high counterpressure, reliably conveying liquids even with a gas content.

In the pump stage, the liquid is taken by the blades of an open impeller or star wheel as it passes through a suction opening. The liquid is then thrown outwards into a lateral channel that extends almost the entire circumference of the impeller wheel. It is then guided into an outlet opening at the end of the channel. There, the speed energy is converted into pressure energy by impulse effect. Depending on the required pressure level, this process is repeated in several stages. Specially designed inlet and outlet openings ensure a liquid ring is maintained when gas is conveyed, and gases are separated in a targeted manner.

Apollo side channel pumps can be used to pump water, condensate, solvents, fuels, oils, acids, alkalis and hydrocarbons. They are available in a horizontal design with a pre-stage NPSH, a block design, a high-speed version or a vertical design, and meet the requirements of various industries, such as energy, chemicals and water management.
