Axially split, between-bearing centrifugal pumps – robust solutions for water, oil, and process applications

Axially split, single-stage centrifugal pumps are the proven choice for high flow rates and reliable, continuous operation. Standard designs, often horizontal double-spiral pumps with double suction impellers, are mainly used in water and general service applications. Apollo Gößnitz's API 610 BB1 pumps, on the other hand, have a significantly more robust, industrial-grade design for challenging oil, gas and process applications.

Both pump types have an axially split casing, making maintenance and inspections particularly efficient. Nevertheless, they differ significantly: BB1 pumps according to API 610/ISO 13709 are mounted between the bearings and are designed for high pressure, long running times and critical operating conditions. They also meet increased requirements for materials, bearing technology and sealing systems. Standard single-stage axial split pumps, on the other hand, are ideal for pumping large volumes of water economically in general industry, infrastructure, and energy supply applications.
