Multi-stage BB5 barrel pumps for maximum pressures and demanding process conditions

The BB5 type of horizontal, multistage barrel pump, in accordance with API 610, is a high-pressure centrifugal pump designed for the most demanding applications in the oil, gas, chemical and energy industries. These pumps feature a robust jacket housing in which the pump element, consisting of several stages arranged in series, is mounted as an independent unit between the bearings. The radially split casing design, combined with a cylindrical double casing or jacket structure, separates the pressure casing from the hydraulic element. This enables safe operation at very high pressures and temperatures.

The multi-stage design, which is available in back-to-back or inline configurations, allows high delivery heads to be achieved even with challenging process media. The pull-out design means that maintenance work can be carried out without the need to remove the entire jacket housing, which significantly reduces downtime. Axially split, diffuser-like stage housings ensure optimum hydraulic efficiency, thrust compensation and a long service life.
