BB2 Process Pump Delivery for the Valhall PWP Platform

One example is the Valhall PWP platform, operated by Aker BP ASA, where Apollo has supplied a complete package of API‑compliant pump solutions. A diverse range of Apollo Gößnitz GmbH technology is utilized, including 14 vertical pumps (VS1, VS4, VS6), several OH2 process pumps - among them a specially developed vertical OH2 design - as well as durable BB2 pumps.

Our BB2 process pumps, type KGR, constructed from D-1 duplex steel, are engineered to handle high loads and come equipped with the following features:

  • Frequency converter for precise speed control
  • Double mechanical seal with Plan 53B
  • Noise enclosure with integrated heating elements
  • Comprehensive sensor technology for vibration, temperature, pressure, and motor data.
  • TS system with seawater cooling and titanium piping
  • Base frame made of SS316 stainless steel

The two-stage, radially split BB2 process pumps are used in the produced water treatment system on the Valhall platform, located in the southern North Sea.
